Wood look plank flooring being installed down a hallway

Flooring installation across Massachusetts

Luxury vinyl plank, wood look tile, large format porcelain and carpet, over a subfloor that gets prepped and leveled before anything is laid.

Almost every flooring complaint we are called about traces back to the same thing: nobody dealt with the subfloor. Plank that clicks and lifts, tile that cracks along a joist line, a hallway that sounds hollow underfoot. The finish gets blamed and the substrate was the problem.

We measure the deflection and the flatness first, then level or reinforce where it is needed, then lay. Transitions between rooms get planned rather than covered with a strip at the end, and the direction of the run is set off the longest sightline in the house.

We install luxury vinyl plank, wood look tile, large format porcelain and carpet, in occupied homes and on contractor jobs.

What is included

  • Subfloor inspection, flatness and deflection check
  • Leveling compound or reinforcement where needed
  • Luxury vinyl plank and wood look tile
  • Large format porcelain
  • Carpet installation
  • Planned transitions between rooms
  • Baseboard and shoe molding
  • Old flooring tear out and haul away

Not included. Structural repair beyond subfloor leveling, and refinishing existing hardwood, are not what we do. We will tell you at the estimate if that is what your floor actually needs.

How it goes

How a floor runs

Check the subfloor

Flatness and deflection, before anything else. This is the step that decides whether your floor is quiet in three years.

Free visit

Prep and level

Leveling compound or reinforcement where the numbers say so. We tell you if this adds cost before you sign, not after.

Before laying

Plan the run and the transitions

Direction set off the longest sightline, transitions planned into the layout instead of patched over at the end.

Layout day

Lay, trim, clean

Floor goes down, baseboard and shoe go on, and we clean before the walkthrough.

Questions

Flooring questions we get every week

Do you install carpet?

Yes. Carpet is part of what we install, along with plank, tile and large format porcelain. We do not have finished photography of a carpet job yet, which is why you will not see one in the gallery above.

Can you lay over my existing floor?

Depends on what is under there and how much height you can afford at the doors and the appliances. Sometimes it is the right call and saves a demolition day. Sometimes it just buries a problem that comes back. We will say which one yours is.

Will my floor be noisy?

Hollow sound and movement almost always come from deflection or an uneven subfloor, not from the plank. That is why we measure it first. If your joists need attention we will tell you, even though it is not work we take on.

Do you move the furniture?

We handle normal furniture as part of the job. Pianos, safes and anything that needs specialty equipment we flag at the estimate so you can arrange it, rather than discovering it on the morning we show up.
